瑞士巴塞尔交响乐团
1876年创立，拥有近140年辉煌历史的巴塞尔交响乐团是瑞士乃至欧洲最负盛名的交响乐团之一，19世纪便有幸与勃拉姆斯、马勒等一批伟大作曲家、指挥家结缘，20世纪则承蒙老一辈指挥大师，如富特文格勒、菲利克斯•斯魏因加德纳、奥托•克伦姆佩勒等人提点，成为欧洲交响乐艺术博物馆中的一枚流芳瑰宝。
瑞士巴塞尔交响乐团是瑞士演奏阵容最庞大的交响乐团，拥有126名音乐家。该团不但举行音乐会，而且还为歌剧伴奏，并录制唱片。进入21世纪，由于充足的赞助支持，乐团异军突起，明星云集，乐团驻扎的巴塞尔市音乐厅，更是被一代指挥帝王卡拉扬奉为“有生以来所见最优秀的演出场所”。作为全欧洲最富有的交响乐团之一，其乐手收入甚至可比肩著名的柏林爱乐乐团，当今最富盛名的长笛演奏家艾曼纽•帕胡德就曾供职于此。
丹尼斯•拉塞尔•戴维斯
指挥
    现年70岁丹尼斯•拉塞尔•戴维斯是当今美国指挥家中的代表人物，曾与詹姆斯•列文共同被视为最有前途美利坚指挥新星。从上世纪70年代末，戴维斯便锋芒尽显，在德国拜罗伊特歌剧节成功执棒瓦格纳歌剧《漂泊的荷兰人》，成为继洛林•马泽尔后第二位染指这一歌剧圣地的美国指挥家。
嗣后，他长期活跃在欧洲古典音乐的心脏地带，80年代在斯图加特担任巴登-符腾堡国立剧院担任音乐总监，又兼任波恩贝多芬音乐厅管弦乐团、斯图加特室内乐团首席指挥职务，90年代起，戴维斯移师奥地利，同时领导该国两大著名音乐团体——维也纳广播交响乐团和林茨布鲁克纳管弦乐团。
至今为止，戴维斯大师已与美国“五大”交响乐团悉数进行过合作，并在柏林爱乐乐团、阿姆斯特丹皇家音乐厅管弦乐团、慕尼黑爱乐乐团、米兰斯卡拉爱乐乐团等留下足迹。自2009-2010演出季开始，拉塞尔•戴维斯大师开始担任巴塞尔交响乐团首席指挥。
法佐•赛依

    现年44岁的土耳其钢琴家、作曲家法佐•塞伊无疑是当今国际音乐舞台上一个神奇的存在，他以不羁的艺术性格、热力四射的表演风范、高超的演奏技巧，博得了世界各国乐迷的喜爱。
    法佐•赛依最初师从米特哈特•法门，法门曾在巴黎拜师阿尔弗雷德•科尔托。或许是感觉到他的学生天赋过人，法门要求法佐•赛依在正式开始钢琴课程之前每天先以他的日常经历为主题练习即兴演奏。正是这种自由的创作过程和形式培养了法佐强大的即兴演奏能力和审美观，造就了今天的这位钢琴家兼作曲家。他曾被委约为萨尔茨堡艺术节、西德广播交响乐团、多特蒙德音乐厅、石勒苏益格-荷尔斯泰因音乐节和梅克伦堡前波莫瑞州音乐节等谱写乐曲。他还创作了键盘乐器、室内乐、协奏曲独奏以及大型管弦乐作品。　　
    自1987年以来，法佐•赛依跟随大卫•勒旺不断提高古典音乐的演奏技巧，先后在杜塞尔多夫的罗伯特•舒曼音乐学院和柏林深造，为他对莫扎特和舒伯特的演绎打下了美学根基。赛依的高超技巧使他轻松自如地掌握了大量保留曲目。正是对巴赫、海顿和莫扎特曲目的精炼纯熟和演奏李斯特、穆索尔斯基和贝多芬作品的卓越技能使其在1994年的纽约青年音乐家国际大赛中大获成功。自此之后，他和欧美的所有知名乐团和很多一流指挥开始合作演出并建立了全面广泛的保留曲目，涵盖了从巴赫到维也纳古典乐派（海顿、莫扎特和贝多芬）到浪漫主义时期的作品，甚至包括现代时期的作品和他自己创作的钢琴曲。　　
    法佐•赛依的客座演出遍布全球五大洲的许多国家，法国《费加罗》报称其为“天才”。此外，他还经常参加室内乐演奏，多年来，他和小提琴家帕特里夏克•帕琴斯卡娅形成了不同凡响的钢琴二重奏，他的其他搭档还包括阿根廷籍大提琴家修儿•嘉碧妲，伊斯坦布尔博鲁森四重奏乐团和土耳其的多位独奏家。　　
    2005年至2010年期间，他是多特蒙德音乐厅的专属艺术家，2010/11演出季他是柏林音乐厅的常驻演奏家，2011年夏季他在石勒苏益格-荷尔斯泰因音乐节中的演出更是全场的亮点。他还在巴黎、东京、汉堡和伊斯坦布尔等地的艺术节上常驻演出。2012/13演出季他是法兰克福/梅茵黑森林广播公司的常驻演奏家，2013年莱茵高音乐节中他荣获莱茵高音乐节大奖。　　
法佐•赛依录制的巴赫、莫扎特、贝多芬、格什温和斯特拉文斯基等作曲家的唱片获得乐评人的高度好评和多个奖项，其中包括三次德国古典回声大奖。自2003年以来，赛依成为Naive唱片公司的专属艺术家。
Basel Symphony Orchestra
The Basel Symphony Orchestra is one of the oldest and most important orchestras in Switzerland. It is rooted in the north-west of Switzerland and at the same time enjoys a more than regional as well as international radiance. The Basel Symphony Orchestra is always again demonstrating anew its excellent quality, whether it be in its own concert tiers, in the Theater Basel or in guest concerts at home or abroad. Since 2009, the principal conductor has been the renowned American conductor and pianist Dennis Russell Davies.
Among the conductors with whom the Basel Symphony Orchestra has been or is closely bound are to be found names such as Mario Venzago, Valery Gergiev or Pierre Boulez, as well as Nello Santi, Otto Klemperer, Horst Stein, Armin Jordan, Walter Weller, Gary Bertini, Antal Dorati, Wilhelm Furtwängler, Gustav Mahler, Felix Weingartner or Johannes Brahms. The Basel Symphony Orchestra has had world premieres for a whole range of the most important works of the twentieth century, among others those of Béla Bartók, Arthur Honegger and Bohuslav Martinu. 
Numerous CD productions, some of which received international acclaim and awards, give record of the orchestra’s work. Since a few years ago the Basel Symphony Orchestra has been demonstrating an increasing international presence. In 2010, for example, the orchestra toured around China. It has also played two much accredited for concerts in St. Petersburg and Moscow in fall 2012 and has recently toured around England in spring 2014.


Dennis Russell Davies
Conductor
Dennis Russell Davies’ activities as an opera and concert conductor, and as a pianist and chamber musician, are characterized by an extensive repertoire from Baroque to modern music. Widely considered to be one of the most innovative conductors in the classical music world, Dennis Russell Davies has successfully challenged and inspired audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. He is noted for his exciting and well-structured concert programmes and for close working relationships with many composers, such as William Bolcom, John Cage, Manfred Trojahn, Philip Glass, Heinz Winbeck, Hans Werner Henze etc.
After first appointments as Musical Director of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and Chief Conductor of the American Composers Orchestra in New York, Davies moved to Europe. He held positions as Music Director of the Staatsoper Stuttgart, Chief Conductor of the Beethovenhalle Orchestra and Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Music Director of the Bonn Opera and the International Beethoven Festival. In Austria, he was appointed Chief Conductor of the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra and entrusted with a conducting professorship at the Salzburg Mozarteum in 1997. In 2002 Davies became Chief Conductor of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz as well as Opera Director at the Landestheater Linz. Since August 2009 he assumed responsibility as Chief Conductor of the Basel Symphony Orchestra, Switzerland. 
In Europe he has worked with Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala di Milano, Munich and Berlin Philharmonic orchestras, Concertgebouw Amsterdam and so on. After his début at the Bayreuth Festival 1978-1980 his operatic work has included conducting at Salzburg Festival, Lincoln Center Festival New York, Houston Grand Opera, Hamburg and the Bavarian State Operas, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Metropolitan Opera New York and Opéra National de Paris. 
Dennis Russell Davies was born in Toledo (Ohio) in 1944 and studied piano and conducting at the Juilliard School, New York. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.


Fazil Say
Piano
Fazil Say was born in Ankara on 14 January 1970. He began playing the piano at the age of four and commenced piano studies when he was eleven. A workshop with David Levine and Aribert Reimann in Ankara provided the decisive impulse to begin composing. He composed his work Black Hymns at the age of sixteen. His career was given further impetus through the award of the first prize at the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York; since then Fazil Say has given over 100 concerts each year. Large-scale compositions followed such as the 2nd Piano Concerto Silk Road which Say premiered in Boston in 1996 and performed more than a dozen times during the concert season 2003/2004. He was Artist in Residence at Radio France in both 2003 and 2005. Fazil Say founded a world jazz quintet in 2000 with whom he has performed in numerous jazz festivals including Montreux and Istanbul.
Say’s musical career is characterised by his double role as composer and internationally renowned pianist. His musical concepts are influenced by his great interest in jazz and improvisation and he frequently incorporates these elements into his compositions. His oratorio Nâzım, set to verses by the Turkish poet Nâzım Hikmet and commissioned by the Turkish Ministry for Cultural Affairs was given its first performance in Ankara in the presence of the Turkish President in 2001. In the Mozart commemorative year 2006, the city of Vienna commissioned the ballet Patara as homage to the great Classical composer. The composer is adventurous in his atmospheric orchestral texture and the utilisation of Turkish percussion instruments in bridging the gap between the music of his native country, elements of jazz and European art music.
